On Wednesday, January 7, an American citizen, Renee Nicole Good, was killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her death is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.
A broad coalition of groups across the country called for coordinated ICE Out For Good actions on Friday, January 23, to stand in solidarity with Minnesota, demand accountability, honor the lives lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.
Hilton has continued to house ICE agents during their reign of terror in Minneapolis. That makes Hilton a key corporate partner enabling ICE to function and profit off the suffering of an entire community. If we can push Hilton to drop ICE, we can remove one pillar of support from ICE operations – and send a clear message to other hotels and corporations that complicity has consequences.
On Friday, January 23, we met outside the Hilton Santa Clara to call on Hilton to cut ties with ICE and to stand with communities under attack. People came with friends and signs, ready to say clearly: ICE’s terror is not normal, and Hilton cannot quietly profit from it.
What to Do About Hilton
Standing together in front of a major corporation that is quietly profiting from ICE’s brutality sends a message: people are watching, and we refuse to be silent while our neighbors are terrorized. Below are concrete ways to keep going. Please share these actions with others.

Turn Up the Pressure on Hilton
Hilton should not quietly profit from ICE’s terror. Here are specific ways to increase pressure:
- Reserve and cancel a Minnesota Hilton booking as part of the shutdown campaign.
-
If you’ve been a Hilton customer and disagree with what ICE is doing:
- Send feedback through Hilton’s surveys, emails, or customer service channels to make your disapproval clear.
- Post publicly on social media and review sites explaining why you oppose Hilton’s collaboration with ICE.
- Choose other hotels until Hilton changes its policy.

We came together at Hilton Santa Clara to say: this is not normal, and we refuse to look away.
Now the work is to keep going — in the streets, in our neighborhoods, in our organizing groups, and in the halls of power.
Thank you again for showing up. Let’s make sure this is one of many times we stand together.
