------ IT'S BLUE TURN STUFF

Voting Rights Petition

DEADLINE TODAY, last minute notice: Let me know if you'd like to help deliver our petition (representing now 85,000 CA constituents) in SF on Wed Aug.6 (60th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act), with cookies and physical decorated petition on an old-fashioned paper roll. I have been trying for weeks to get an appointment but it seems unlikely (unless they come through tomorrow), so we'll be going in rogue and see what happens.

Join other Indivisibles in Sacramento

Come to Sacramento on Aug. 24 and learn from other CA Indivisibles! If you stay until Monday, you can also attend a lobby day and learn how to! I'll be driving here and can give you a ride. You need to decide very quickly: there are a limited number of spots for IBT members and discounted hotel rate ends Aug.5. You can look over the agenda .

Picnic Must Be Cancelled

The Solidarity September Labor Day picnic will have to be cancelled unless you step up. I can help, I can do a lot of things for it, but I can't take charge of it (making sure that all parts happen, coordinating volunteers, and stepping in to fill in holes) -- I'll be traveling and, honestly, I'm also getting very close to burnout. If this is something you can do, please let me know ASAP.

1MR Q&A: Ask Anything

How should I support the One Million Rising? TL:DR; they are asking each of us to host a 10-person meeting and discuss various winning-back-democracy concepts and recruit people into the movement. I can't do these: I've already done such meetings and continue doing them - that's how y'all know me. I would love to support this initiative but I have no clue how to. I've offered 1MR toolkit to folks and/or offered to come over to the group someone hosts and chat - no takers though. What are your thoughts? Just FYI, I'm doing an informal Q&A about hosting 1MR events at Mitchell Park on Aug.9: ; if you know someone who could use a nudge.... :)

Local Charities To Support

If we were to hold a fundraiser to support local groups doing important work, which causes and organizations would you most want us to support? Some ideas: first-gen college students, immigration rights, unhoused community, Second Harvest. Let me know what matters most to you!!

Phonebank from Home

In addition to our regular phone bank , also consider calling voters across North Carolina who must update their voter registration in order to vote.

Redistricting Watch

National Indivisible is calling for Dems to redistrict to counteract the Republican gerrymandering and attempt to destroy our ability to win the House in 2026. This is a very contentious issue right now; read over the arguments and possible actions that you can take.
