In these uncertain times, many of us feel the weight of political and social harm, whether to ourselves, our communities, our institutions, or to the people we love. Coming together to make art offers a way to process those feelings, reconnect with one another, and transform what we’re carrying into shared expression and voice. Expression is resistance. Art is the highest form of hope.
Get it Out! is a community art project that invites people to externalize what they are carrying—worry, anger, hope, confusion, determination—and turn it into art. The project places as much value on the process of making as on the finished pieces. We want people to feel grounded, connected, and supported while creating.
At the same time, we are working toward an outward-facing public installation once we reach approximately 500 pieces of art.
Jan. 8, 2026, 4pm: Help shape the project, plan the installation, lead outreach, or facilitate small group workshops
It's simple: all you need is a table or two and a little space for people to gather. Our facilitators will bring all materials, guide the session, and help participants explore whatever they need to “get out.” Workshops can be hosted in homes, backyards, studios, offices, community rooms, or any space where people can sit together and make art.
